SUMMARY — WIN CLAIMS — BOWSER CREEK ALASKA |
|||
The Win Group of Claims is unique in that unlike most mineral prospects, this project has documentable reserves. The experts who have made this determination are geologists from the U.S. Geological Survey, Homestake Mining Co., the State of Alaska, and consultants who were employed by Homestake Mining.
If your computer is fast enough and you have a high speed internet connection you may want to take a virtual video tour of the Win Group of Claims. The only thing that has kept this property from being developed has been location. If these claims had been in Idaho, or Nevada, there already would have been a town built around the mine. As it happened the prospect is in a remote part of the Alaska Range that wasn't even mapped by the U.S. Geological Survey until 1967, in preparation for the field season that led to the discovery by Reed and Elliot of what is now called the Win Group of Claims. The other factor cited is weather, although the scene above was photographed in early March and shows that while this is a mountain range, there is not that much snowfall. A pack of about 4 feet is average. Notice that the mineral exposures are uncovered. Given the proper gear and engineering, mineral recovery here could be a year-round operation. For my latest way I am proposing to bring this property into production, click here for The Bottom Line. |
