Prospector Commentary - Where Are The Juniors?

*It Is Time Again...But Where Are The Juniors?

THE ROLE OF THE MAJORS - 2

As the majors are answerable to stockholders, they are not noted for taking risk. That gets one fired! This phenomenon of not taking any independent, "risky" action (i.e. exploration) is very noticeable in the recent trend in mergers and consolation into huge megaliths of extreme power ówith large legal departments, supporting the actions of their accountants.

At the very least, I fault the majors not defending the industry overall, or paying attention, to the environmentalists. Instead, they took their marbles and invested overseas, where labor was cheap, and clean air standards a joke. 'Course the laugh is on us, for the tall stacks on Korean smelters merely allowed the export of all the bad stuff into the jet stream to fall out over...wilderness Alaska.

They also are having war lord/labor problems in these far-flung ventures, in the words of President Bush, not in the "best interest of the United States."

Enough on this, other than another pathway leading up a mountain of conclusion.
